Based on the three "Parenting Styles" Authoritarian, Authoritative (Democratic), and Permissive do you think they have major influence on a child's behavior and decision making?
Authoritarian parent, I think have a major influence on a child behavior and decision making because when the parent say no to the child, some parents would say no questions ask, which mean it doesn't give them the right to not let the child ask why the parent say no, and when the child grow up, the parents have to let the child make his or her own decision, because down in life they are going to make some mistakes as well, and they are going to have to learn from it. Somr parents be authoritarian because they dont want nothing to happen to their child, which means they being over protective.
Yes, I really do think the way you raise your child influences the way they act and think. If you too friendly, they going treat you just as that, a friend! They not going to respect you as a parent. If you act "up tight", they going be too scared to do anything, because they are afraid of the outcome.
No, because a children gone do what they want to do even if they have a strict parent or a parent who let them do anything. Most permissive parents they do not set limitations but the difference is that they care for their children, physically and emotionally. An authoritative parent try to help their child to learn to be responsible for himself and to think about the consequences of his acts/behavior. The authoritarian parents methods are usually to try to get the children to obey, without providing them with any choices, explanations or options.
Yes, because sometimes the way you raise your child can be positive or negative. Personally I think nine times out of ten a child will most likely go the way they want once their grown, but as a child they look up to their parents most of the time even if its a positive or negative influence.
Yes, I think they have a affect on children because sometimes when you are strict on a child they grow to be wilder than they were when they were younger. If you arent strict then your child will go out doing anything and that will have affect on how the child lives when they get older. So yes I think your parenting style affects your child !
Yes , it greatly effects the way children make decsions in a good and a bad way. On one hand the way you raise your child is the way they will raise theirs in the future; but on the other hand they may stray or rebel against the things that they were taught as a child .
Yes, because th way you raise your kids impacts their lifestlye. You you go easy on bad behavior their going to take you as a joke and think they can get over on you, their going to look at you as if you're one of their friends. If you disipline them the right way you have nothing to worry about their not oing to step out of line.
Yes, I totally agree that paretning styles affect the way children make decisions and behavior. Being a permissive is not like being a parent it's more like being a push over. Being authoritative is like basically explaining yourself to your child and it shouldn't be like that but they show alot of warmth to the child. Authoritarian is not being abusive but just wanting the child to be respectful and knowing their place as a child. So yes,I do agree.
